Marmora and Lake is situated halfway between Ottawa and Toronto, a 90-minute drive from Kingston, and with quick access to Belleville or Peterborough. We are Rural, not Remote!

Contrary to city drive times, where a 20-minute drive can quickly translate into a 60-minute drive, the country drive is the amount of actual driving time needed to get to your destination. Relax, you can put Google Maps Traffic info away, there is simply no traffic jam ever!
3. Automatic FHO qualification.
Joining the Marmora Medical Centre means joining the existing FHO with a team of experienced Family Physicians and collaborating with Nurse Practitioners, and allied health professionals through the Central Hastings Family Health Team.
4. Your partners
Dr. Emily Callery, MSc, MD, CCFP; and Dr. Payman Charkhzarin, MSc, MD, CCFP are both dedicated family physicians working out of the Marmora Medical Centre.
In addition to their general family practices, Dr. Callery also currently works regular shifts in the Emergency Department of nearby Campbellford Memorial Hospital, while Dr. Charkhzarin is one of several practitioners providing weekly and on-call coverage to the LTC residents of Carressant Care Marmora Nursing & Retirement homes.
5. $200,000 - Return of Service Agreement
Hastings County Family Medicine Incentive Program funds $100,000 and the Municipality funds $100,000 for a five-year agreement.
6. Cost of Living
Your compensation as a physician is the same as in the city, but your cost of living (housing, fuel, etc.) is far less.
7. Access to free living accommodations
The Marmora Medical Centre houses two apartments that are for doctors only. Make use of it full time, or use it as needed.
8. Don't worry about your overhead
$0 monthly clinic rental/lease cost. $0 monthly clinic utility costs (heat, hydro, water, sewer, etc.)
9. Enjoy the small town lifestyle
There is all types of boating in the many lakes and countless rivers, horseback riding, full or hobby farming, birding, hunting, fishing, ATVing, and more.
